Pine syrup …

Pine syrup …

Pine syrup is known as a natural remedy for cough and cold.

Pine and sugar shoots are sufficient to prepare and can therefore be used successfully in children. Sweet, with a concentration of vitamin C and mineral salts, is an excellent tea supplement for strengthening the body. Pine shoots are best collected in early May. The best are bright green growths with brown, sticky shells. We cut them with a sharp knife.

Remember about the gloves, because the shoots are quite sticky. How to prepare medicinal syrup? There are some rules, we used the simplest version, pine shoots and sugar (no alcohol, no cooking, no water).

Necessary: • young pine shoots • sugar • jar Picked pine shoots are washed under running water, put on a towel paper to soak up excess water.

Some sources do not recommend washing the shoots due to the possible elimination of valuable ingredients, but we, however, wash under running water. Longer shoots can be cut into smaller pieces to make the juice quicker.

Stack in a jar, knead with wooden pestle, pour over sugar. We arrange another layer of the oil, knead, sugar.

We turn the jar and leave it in the sun for 3-4 weeks. The syrup is poured over the gauze into the bottle, we describe the bottle and the remaining shoots can be used again … for tincture. The remaining shoots can be poured with vodka or spirits mixed with water in a ratio of 2: 1. Dissolution at the discretion. After a month it will be ready. Enjoy!
